Architectural design is nourished by its relationships to context. It doesn’t want to make headlines,
it doesn’t seek astonishment: it is an apparently simple idea of architecture, which not only devotes itself
to the compositional study of the relationships between shapes and functions, but also
reasons about unbuilt space and the relationship with nature. The pandemic crisis has highlighted
a greater interdependence between city and landscape, between man and nature.
Reassessing its centrality means not only introducing naturaliform elements, but above all learning
to replicate the resilience techniques and adaptability that characterise the plant world and applying them
to the building process. An architecture that aims at ecological responsibility and is able
to adopt new settlement and receptive models, based on sustainability and reversibility, resorting to
conscious design strategies oriented towards reuse, recycling and recovery.
