Urban Forestation Intervention and Tamoil Filter Woodland

The project concerns an urban forestation intervention aimed at creating a filter-woodland between the external industrial areas and the suburban residential districts of Cremona city. The project is part of an urban intervention on a larger supra-municipal scale, which envisages the creation of a belt urban park (Po and Morbasco Park). The park is set up as an articulated “ecological corridor” with mainly naturalistic values but also aimed at collective enjoyment thanks to the widespread presence of facilities and paths. The tree and shrub species (exclusively native and naturalised) have been chosen on the basis of accurate analyses aimed at highlighting the limiting factors of the different intervention areas. The woodland has been designed according to the principles of urban forestation, in order to limit planting and management costs while guaranteeing a strongly naturalistic effect.
