Venice New Cinema Palace
The respect for the delicate landscape context of the Lagoon is one of the milestones on which the design for the new Cinema Palace in Venice is based. The intervention is designed to safeguard the garden that currently occupies the free space next to the adjacent Casino so that the new Cinema Palace presents a transversal arrangement to the two existing buildings, parallel to the waterfront that laps the intervention area. Particular attention is paid to the large domestic pines that bounds the area. These trees, with their huge mass and irregular conformation symbolically contrasted with the rigorous and almost “metaphysical” geometry of the architecture, rise to an “icon” of the project and its conservation philosophy.
