“Eugenio Battisti” Museum of Industry and Work

The project concerns the recovery of a disused industrial building belonging to “Comparto Milano” in Brescia for the creation of the new “Eugenio Battisti” Museum of Industry and Work.
The building, which is also a pre-existence and memory, object and subject of the installations destined to be located there, is preserved in its structure and plant, even though in a flexible and non-binding way: the building is therefore partially expanded, compressed, deformed or rationalized where the need arises for functional, formal or symbolic reasons. The presence of water, a historical resource related to the development of early manufacturing, is recovered for energy-environmental purposes and as strength element on a symbolic and evocative level.
